Penelope- 2008This movie is so cute! A fun, modern day fairy tale about a cursed girl who has to find a Blue-blood to marry her to in order to get rid of a pig-nose. It's fun and whimsical in all the right parts and a perfect movie to watch with your grandmother.
The movie is pretty superficial- there really isn't much there that isn't explained. It's a big "love who you are" and "don't judge" movie. I loved Catherine O'Hara as the mother. She is absolutely hilarious.
This is not an award-winner by any lengths, but still a fun movie. Sorry that this is a short review- there really isn't much I can say because a) there isn't much there and b) I don't want to ruin the ending for anyone who is planning on seeing it.
But, this movie proves two things- James McAvoy is adorable and Christina Ricci should totally be in more movies.
