SHMR #3- Casablanca

Casablanca- 1942
Directed by Michael Curtiz
Starring: Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid

So, I'm gonna go ahead and call this one: I think this is going to be a classic. I had never seen this movie before and after watching it, I understand why it makes the top slot of pretty much every movie countdown ever made. If you have not seen it, I suggest that you go and watch it right now. I am a big fan of old movies and this one pretty much blows most of them out of the water.

With the Second World War raging in Europe, Rick (Bogart) is a cynical and very neutral onlooker of the war who runs into an old flame Ilsa (Bergman) who is on the run with her current beau from the Nazis. It's a love story that has set the bar for all other love stories. Nicholas Sparks, eat your heart out- you'll never come up with something this perfect. The acting is supurb and it is beautifully shot. Again, I highly recommend this to everyone (though I am probably the last to have watched it...I'm a horrible movie-buff).

Rating: A+

**I'm sorry for the ridiculously short review- I am really tired and Idol was on. Go Adam!

See you tomorrow for the exciting (and hopefully longer) review of Rachel Getting Married.
