Gotta Love Mother Nature

So, you know how I was telling you how much it's been raining? Well, today, there is sunshine and it is beautiful. I've spent the last 5 hours outside, which makes me very very happy. But, just so you all can see the damage from the past week or so of near constant rain...here are some before and after pictures:

Before: Looking Upstream from the new bridge.

After: Same place, zoomed in a bit to show where the water reached at it's highest. If you notice on the left hand side, the grass is all flattened and pointed down-stream. This is where the water level was. Also, though it's had a day or two (it didn't rain yesterday, but was just cloudy), the water level is still very very high.

Before: This one makes me a little sad...this is the old bridge that Dad and I built when I was about 5 or 6 (okay, Dad built it, but I got to help him carry the wood down to the creek and I held nails). This bridge has been there for 15 years old...RIP old bridge.

**Ooh, ooh! If you look and see the big flat roundish rock in the bottom right hand corner, that was on the shore when the bridge was built. At the time of this picture, there was 2-3 feet of creek that had eroded away....

After: Sigh....The creek looks a lot different now...much wider. The large log on the left that is leaning on the rock was one of the support beams of the bridge.
