So...I'm starting a blog. This should be interesting. For most of you I'm sure this will be another boring speck out there in the cyber-webs, but someone once told me that my life was interesting, so I'm going to start blogging. Hopefully as time passes, this will become more fascinating. My life is crazy and I apologize.
Today was a good day. I knit another scarf, cleaned my closet, and came to the realization that my hermit crab was alive. Which brings me to my first installment of:
Spark of Brilliance or Flash of Insanity?
1. So I got this hermit crab on an impulse while in Charlotte this week. I've wanted a dorm room pet and I don't like fish, so I knew a hermit crab would be one of my only options. It's hypoallergenic. Anyways, after I got it home, it didn't move or eat or do anything for three days, so I assumed it was dead. I didn't get a chance to get rid of it because my parents still don't know that I actually have a hermit crab. Anyways, I was about to take it out and put the ex-hermit crab in Mom's garden when I noticed it was alive! I was shocked. It still hadn't eaten anything, but it was alive and moving...well, kind of. It was in a corner of the terrarium and then it started going across the perimeter of the terrarium, but then it went back to it's corner where it is sitting right now, motionless. The total elapsed time of the crab's motion was maybe five minutes. It still hasn't eaten anything, but for now I'm calling it Jesus-Crab. This hermit crab might have been a bad idea. We'll see I guess.
As of right now I'm putting this under the category of Flash of Insanity
2. I have a meeting Sunday morning at a local elementary school where I'll start teaching catechesis classes (Catholic Sunday School, if you will) to small children. For those of you who don't know, I became Catholic less than a year ago. However, I really like kids and I am considering some form of education as a career (hopefully HS or college), so I think this will be a great opportunity. I'm sure I'll learn just as much as the kiddies. This will surely lead to excellent stories about small children, so stay tuned!
Verdict: Spark of Brilliance
